A jab well done

On 17 July 2026, Kingsbury Court Surgery welcomed the MP for Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard, Ms Alex Mayer, to the practice. This visit took place so the MP could hear all about the work we are doing to boost childhood vaccination uptake!

The practices across Trident Primary Care Network (PCN), which includes Kingsbury Court Surgery, Kirby Road Surgery and Eastgate Surgery, have been working hard to increase childhood uptake in our patient populations. This initiative was in response to the vaccine misinformation spread online, jab rates falling across the country, and later in response to the UK losing its World Health Organisation Measle free status back in January. This had led to the return of preventable diseases such as measles, mumps and rubella. So far, our work has resulted in an increase from 79 per cent to 88 per cent in just one year at Kingsbury Court Surgery!

Ms Mayer was very interested to hear about the work the practice have been doing and welcomed the opportunity to be part of our vaccination clinic!
